One of my favorite places. Especially in the Spring in early April when the Dogwoods bloom. I usually day trip here as camping is limited, especially for one with proximity to restroom.

The park is undergoing major renovations as of October 2023 & is mostly closed. You can still visit a few trails. It is supposed to reopen in March 2024. The park ranger said to call before you go to make sure they are open.

The park is currently under renovations to upgrade the electrical. I have seen the Mission before and didn’t get a chance this trip with the renovations. They have a new headquarters and interpretive center. Very nice. I’m looking forward to seeing the park again when the work is completed. It is a beautiful park.

We arrived on a weekend when most of the park was closed for upgrades and repairs. The ranger was so very helpful and welcoming. She filled out water bottles for us and showed us which trails were open and made some recommendations based on the ages of our daughters. We had a wonderful time hiking and exploring. This is going to be our next park to revisit in a few months. The bathrooms were spotless and well stocked. All of the facilities were very well kept and the park was very clean and well maintained. 5 stars all around! We look forward to going back to explore the entire park in the future.

Such a very unique park! We enjoyed the trails, the old log cabin, the mission, the cool things we found on the trail and the history surrounding this park. We spent about 4 good hours at the park going through all the buildings and the trails. It was really neat to read the history behind the El Camino Real and then to know that you were walking on the same road that so many others have before you! Such a great park to visit for a great "real life" science and history lesson. We will be back again to share with the kids!

For only $3 for a day pass, this state park was phenomenal! The hiking was not flat being essentially just a walk in the woods. The trails are beautifully marked and there are park maps frequently so it's harder to get lost. There was not any cell reception so using alltrails was not an option and it worked out. I really enjoyed my experience here. If you can, go check this park out!

Beautiful park tucked away in the pine forests. Nice hiking trails, most of them easy, and very quiet. Enjoyed a couple of nights in the campground, the facilities were very nice and well kept. Rangers were friendly and helpful.

The park is closed and will be opening in the summer of 2024. The only thing that is open is the log cabin and gift shop.
